Dyckia Larry the Chopper

Dyckia Larry the Chopper  is also coming in to flower for the 1st time for me.

 

Sausage and Cannonball trees

There is a sausage tree that grows not far from where I live. Unfortunately the  sausages are never within reach.

There is also a tree (about 30 away) what has flowers that look like a Cannonball tree but the flower are up on is branches and not on it's truck. like a true Cannonball tree. The tree truck look like a  Ficus of some type with a  buttress roots.

I picked this flower off the ground and did not have my camera  with me.

Seedling from Dyckia Dakota

Seedling from Dyckia Dakota is not the best way to get a variegated plant but you never know what your going to get.

No variegated  plant this time.

Dyckia linearifolia

Dyckia linearifolia a some what rare plant that's hard to come by.

This is what it looked like last year

Today (March 14 2014)

1st time flowering in a 8 inch pot.

Dyckia platyphylla 1st time flowering for me.

 

 

It has not made any pups in all the years I've had it (5 years I think).

 

That small flower stem gave up and died.

This is a big plant in a 8 inch pot.

 

Dyckia remotiflora HBG 82615

I picked this Dyckia up in Arizona a few years ago.

It had a label that said "Dyckia remotiflora HBG 82615"

I don't know if its the same or not, but my plant doesn't get as large as most dyckia's. I'm not sure how large that Dwarf Form of Dyckia remotiflora gets the seller doesn't say.

 This plant has been growing in a 6 inch pot. Now I moved it up to a 8 inch pot.


UPDATE
It started to come in to flower last fall (2013) but with winter temps it put that on hold.

Hope it will flower this summer.
